Pino Ninfa
He works in the field of show photography and reportage. For some time he has been involved in the recovery and protection of the environment, following development projects for local populations in African forests and in the Amazon. Particular attention is paid to the female universe and to the abuses of which she is often a victim. He has carried out social projects in India, Nepal, Haiti, South Africa, Eritrea. For years he has been developing solidarity projects with various NGOs including Emergency, Amani, CBM Italia and Cesvi. Parallel to his activity as a photographer, Ninfa is involved in teaching, holding workshops in Italy and abroad. In the field of music, in addition to photographing at festivals, he develops multimedia projects, including: Haiti rebuilding hope at the Casa del Jazz in Rome with Enrico Zanisi, Sudafrica with Franco D'Andrea Trio at Piacenza Jazz Fest, Il tempo in posa with Danilo Rea in Catania, In viaggio fra sacro e profano with Paolo Fresu and Dino Rubino. He was the official photographer of the Heineken Jammin 'Festival from 1998 to 2011 and for Heineken Italia he followed several editions of Umbria Jazz. From its opening until 2004, he was the official photographer of the Blue Note in Milan. Ninfa is president of the P.I.M. (poetry-image-music) which organizes and disseminates exhibitions and seminars of musical photographers. With the musicians Paolo Fresu, Franco D 'Andrea, Stefano Bollani, Enrico Pieranunzi, Danilo Rea, Enrico Intra, Pietro Tonolo, Rita Marcotulli, Gavino Murgia and others, he carries out projects on the encounter between music and photography. He has exhibited in several Italian museums and abroad. Among his publications, Nero Tango: un viaggio fotografico nel mondo del tango argentino (Marcos y Marcos), Emergency-Una speranza in Cambogia (Skira publisher).
