Synopsis

A tribute to the photographer's homeland, a reportage, with large-format black and white photographs, with which the author wanted to tell the complex identity of his region in all its many aspects.

In the first part of the book, the author recalls in his shots life in the seventies: work in the countryside, in steel mills and in the city, the faces of peasants, the interiors of houses, village festivals.

The second part focuses on the changes that have taken place over time, which have involved the life of the Umbrian cities and countryside but above all the life of the people, their habits and lifestyle.

Sandro Becchetti
(Rome, 1935-2013) He began his work as a photographer in the mid-sixties. His work documents a strong attention to the social, cultural and political changes happened during the last decades in Italy. He collaborated with the most important national newspapers and magazines, with RAI channels, BBC channel and France Presse; his photographs appeared on Life and Libération. He exposed his works in exhibitions at private galleries as well as at public institutions in Italy and abroad.
