Synopsis

Tehran Echoes is the story of 30 days spent in Tehran in June 2009: from the colorful and lively pre-election demonstrations, to election day, to the protest and brutal repression that hit the citizens of the capital, causing dozens of deaths and hundreds of injured. In this long month, activists of the "green wave" tried to transfer a cumbersome past into the dream of a different future, remaining suspended in a present in which echoes and prefigurations explode.

For this work, Pietro Masturzo has been awarded World Press Photo 2009, Picture Of The Year 2009 and People in the News 2009.
