Living Arrangements suggests the idea of the home as a place of protection, warmth and independence, but also as a place of solitude, isolation and dependence on others, even more true when an elderly person lives alone. The essential aspects of Penny Klepuszewska's photographs are the concept of the scene, the attention to detail and to the small fragility and brutality of which the life of contemporary man is made. In her work she combines a documentary approach to a taste for staging and fiction in order to create stories in which reality and fantasy merge. For her stories she often draws inspiration from newspaper articles, personal stories, conversations and everyday life.
