(Lanciano, 1936) He's an Italian film and television producer, screenwriter and director. Like many young southerners, at the beginning of the sixties he interrupted his studies to emigrate to Milan in search of fortune. In those years the Lombard capital was one of the liveliest European cities. He frequents the legendary Jamaica bar, near the Brera Academy, where artists, writers, journalists and photographers meet. He becomes friends with Mario Dondero and Ugo Mulas. He is passionate about the first trade union struggles in Francoist Spain, post-colonialism in Africa, revolutionary movements in Latin America. It will be Dondero who will put the first camera in his hands and encourage him to become a photojournalist. From that moment he began to collaborate as a freelance with Vie Nuove, Le Ore, Tempo Illustrato, Panorama, Il Mondo di Pannunzio, L ’Espresso, Il Giorno. In 1969 he moved from Milan to Rome to pursue his new passion, cinema. He directed, among others, Mamba with Trudy Styler and L’anniversario with Laura Morante and Luca Zingaretti. As a producer, alongside highly successful films such as Porci con le ali, Il Papocchio by Renzo Arbore with Roberto Benigni, Così parlò Bellavista by and with Luciano De Crescenzo, Il portaborse together with Nanni Moretti and Angelo Barbagallo, he has realized refined works by authors such as Emidio Greco, Roberto Faenza, Fabio Carpi, Abel Ferrara.
