(New York 1929 – 2006) American-born photographer, he collaborated with Magnum since 1972. Freed has always been interested in those who live on the fringes of society, becoming one of the most famous American photojournalists for his images on Jewish communities in the world, on the condition of Black Americans, on the American civil rights movement.
